MPR FAQs

What is an MPR?

MPR stands for Marketing Project Request. When a business line or department has a marketing need, the first step to satisfying that need is to submit an MPR. This helps the marketing department understand what to evaluate when creating a strategy in order to make a project, event, or campaign successful.

What should I think about when submitting an MPR?

The marketing department receives many requests from all different lines of business on a daily basis. When submitting an MPR, you should think about what measurable goals you want to achieve to make your campaign successful. Do you want to increase census, traffic, awareness, or something else that is quantifiable? Think about these things and add them to your request.

What do I need before submitting an MPR?

You should gather a few key pieces of information. Your ultimate goal is the most important thing. Targeted demographics, budget, a timeline, and your cost center are a good start. The more specific, action-oriented information you provide the better.

Why do events over $10,000 need all of these forms and signatures?

It has been decided by the Senior Managers that justifications for events and budgets must be tracked more closely for higher-end events. In the past, a lot of money and time has been spent on events where the return on investment has been questionable. Going forward, the requester of an event must justify the spend and the event must have positive added value.

What happens after I submit my MPR?

Approval is needed from upper management before the commencement of any project. Once that occurs, the marketing department will formulate a strategy to best fit your needs. Depending on the scope of the project, a short phone call will be scheduled with you to best understand your needs. A timeline will then be created for the entire project and finally, we will get to work.

Why was my MPR declined?

This can happen for a number of different reasons. Sometimes, an MPR is submitted without adequate time to complete the request. A request might be modified if it is too expensive. The marketing department might have been given different priorities from upper management. One way or another, we will try our best to help you achieve your goals, even if it is through a different strategy than what was originally expected.
